Patchogue Post 269 sits in the Veterans Memorial Park. After discussions with the Mayor of Patchogue, it was jointly decided to rename the park after a 72 year member of the Post. Harry T. Hanson served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He joined the SONS organization prior to joining the Legion when he enlisted during WWII. Harry served as Commander of Post 269 three times. Harry passed away in January of 2015.

It was decided to rename the park and to do it immediately after the Memorial Day Ceremony since the Ceremony is done in the park outside the Post.

Thus, Patchogue Post 269 now sits in the Harry T. Hanson Veterans Memorial Park.
