Veterans Day started at 0700 in Valhalla. The American Legion Post 1038 set up at sunrise during 21 degrees, for the ceremony. The theme was Women Veterans with the keynote speech by Legionnaire Marie Ann Raguso, U.S. Air Force veteran and Purple Heart. Boy and Girl Scouts spoke about their family members that are veterans. Local Girl Scouts prepared cookies, cards and gift bags for local veterans. Later on an Open House and Flag Retirement Ceremony was held at Post 1038. Another great community event.
