Quentin Roosevelt Post # 8, Clifton NJ is a centennial Post, and in that near one hundred year history has a lot to be proud of. The Home Post to Police Officers, Firefighters, 5 Councilmen, 2 Mayors, 1 Judge, 1 Freeholder, 1 State Senator and 1 Congressmen. The Post is, and has always been involved in the Community. The City of Clifton, also approaching its’ Centennial and the American Legion have grown up together and there has always been a Legion presence within the City. Post 8 is one of two American Legion Posts in the city, which is also home to VFWs, DAV, MOPH, Ex-POW, JWV and VVA. In all Clifton was home to ten Veteran’s organizations.

Through the years The Post home has been located at six addresses around Clifton. The Post is proud to have sponsored young men to “Boy’s State” ever since the program started in New Jersey, as well as having Sponsored a Legion Baseball Team, since the inception of the program, up until 2012. The American Legion Family is strong at Post 8, The Auxiliary and The SAL programs, were both begun in the first years that the organizations were formed. Post 8 members have been elected to the Office of County Commander 15 times, since the County organization was started.

Post 8 like most Posts has reinvented itself with the changing of times, and although the dawn sometimes seems quite distant, it has always come. And Post 8 has always been there with it.
