Past History of Post 311 Buidling;  The present building known as Post 311, was organically a private residence that was turned over to the newly chartered American Legion Post 311, in 1945. Since that time, the post has served as a focal point for Waterford Township. Various community organizations used the building for meetings, special events etc. promoting Americanism. The building has gone through several interior renovations over years, to include; bar relocations, new bathroom facilities and kitchen as well as s meeting room on the second floor.

Post Historian Lisnyj,a long time memmber of the post and 60 plus year resident of wahterford twonship, interviewed many members, auxillary members and local long-time resiidetns who had experienced the changes and had personal experiences with Post 311. Life long resident and friend of Post 311 Sonny Delaurtis,  recollected that the wood for the fireplace mantle on the ground floor of the post came from the Navy Shipyard in Phila. Further stated, that one of the members, or relative of a memeber, had a trucking company and hauled the lumber to the post at no charge. Please note that there were no recordings of conversations and are reproted by this writer from some notes and recall.
