Jamesburg American Legion Star Post 127 already had a monument in Veterans Park dedicated to those who participated in The Great War (WWI) and it was decided by the post to erect a new memorial to those local individuals who participated in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The War on Terror and all other conflicts. It took us several years to collect all the names of those Jamesburg and surrounding area veterans who participated in the aforementioned conflicts. Once the number of names was established, we went about designing the memorial. We found that we needed 5 granite slabs to commemorate all of the names. The building of the memorial began in 2014 and lasted until completion in 2015 with a dedication on Memorial Day of 2015.
