By direction of the Department of NH commander, Oliver Brooks, the following rulings were issued by Douglas Micklon, PDC New Hampshire Judge Advocate.

Notice and Documentation has been received from the National Adjutant Daniel S. Wheeler at National Headquarters Indianapolis, Indiana that the 2020 102nd National Convention scheduled for August 28, 2020 thru September 3, 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky has been canceled.
This action was taken by the National Executive Committee by Resolution #3 concerning the safety of The American Legion Family that the National Commander had with the obligations which were forthcoming during the summer months.
With this action there will be no election of National Officers this year and all those duly elected in 2019 shall extend their position till the next National Convention to be held in 2021.
With consultation of the Department Commander Oliver Brooks:
April 9, 2020 Ruling by the New Hampshire Department Judge Advocate is as follows:
1. Following the lead of the National Organization, The American Legion Department of New Hampshire shall do the same.
2. The 2020 New Hampshire State Convention to be held in Manchester, NH June 25, 2020 thru June 28, 2020 is hereby cancelled.
3. All Department, District, Post, Squadron and Rider Chapter Officers shall extend their position until nominations and elections take place in 2021.
4. If an Officer cannot or does not want to continue with his/her office they shall submit a letter of resignation to their Department, District, Post, Squadron or Chapter.
5. The Department, Districts, Posts, Squadrons and Chapters may proceed to hold nominations and elections to fill any vacant positions after the Governor of The State of New Hampshire discontinues the shelter-in-place order one hundred percent (100%).
6. All newly elected Department/Detachment Officers, District Commanders and District Senior Vice Commanders shall be installed by their Department/Detachment Commander. District, Post, Squadron and Chapter positions shall be installed by the District Commander.
