Department Commander Oliver Brooks Orders Cancellation of All Legion Meetings and Events due to the COVID-19 corona virus pandemic.
The Governor's directive March 16 officially bans restaurants and bars, including private clubs and veteran’s organization canteens to cease having patrons on site. They are allowed to have take-out service or delivery. In addition, President Trump made a statement that limits all meetings to 10 people or less.
Brooks said, “This is a serious public health and safety issue and must be adhered to. Since a majority of our membership is older and more vulnerable to contracting this virus, I am ordering all Posts in the Department of NH to stop all meetings and events for the next 30 days.” Use of electronic devices can be used to communicate instead of face-to-face meetings, he added.
This closure will be in effect until April 15 at which time Department officers will re-access the situation.
