Headed by VFW Post 483 Commander, Steve Ordway, area veterans organizations laid wreaths at several cemeteries and war memorials Friday morning. The detail laid wreaths at Gilson Rd. cemetery, St. Louis cemetery (new), Beth Abraham cemetery, St. Louis cemetery (old), and Deschenes Oval war memorial. Participants were from VFW Post 483, American Legion Post 3 and DAV Chapter 7.  After the wreaths were laid, a prayer was read, the colors were presented followed by a 3 volley rifle salute by the VFW rifle squad and the playing of taps and echo taps by the buglers. The color guard from James E. Coffey Post 3 consisted of Bob Courtemanche (American flag), Don Vincent (Legion Post 3 flag), Priscille Barbera (Legion Auxiliary Unit 3 flag) and Barbara Courtemanche (POW/MIA flag). Taps and echo taps were played by Bob Polter of Pelham and Bob Guessferd.
