The 3rd Division, American Legion James E. Coffey Post 3, marches along Main St., Nashua.  The Post 3 banner precedes the Post 3 Color Guard followed by Commander Wayne Beauregard and the rest of the Post 3 members.
With memories of Sept. 11, 2001 fresh in people's minds, the parade was well attended.  Mayor Bernie Streeter marched with special guest, US Senator Bob Smith.  "I'm honored to do this," Smith said. "It looks good to see this kind of patriotism across the stat."
Smith began his day in Fitzwilliam at a small Memorial Day celebration, traveled to Nashua, and was headed to Manchester and Bow.
Members of Post 3 said they hadn't seen such a turnout in years.  Both attendance and participation reached new highs.
"It's one of the best in recent years that we've had." post member Steve Davis said.
   Post commander Wayne Beauregard agreed.
"It was warm, but it was good," he said.
Nothing beats parading, especially before an appreciative crowd said teen-agers Zach Licata and Wade McKenna, members of the American Legion Post 48 drum corps from Hudson.
"It makes you feel good, the people saluting," Licata said.
