On May 4, 1999, Barry Palmer (pictured) was elected the new commander of the James E. Coffey Post 3 at the regular monthly meeting.  He has been a news reporter for the Telegraph and the Union Leader. Palmer retired from the US Army after 20 years as a Chief Warrant Officer.  Serving with Palmer for 1999-2000 are the following officers:
