Gary  Johnson will lead the James E. Coffey  Post 3 for the 1993-94 term.  Elected as the new commander at the regular meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 1993, Johnson is a US Marine Corps., Vietnam veteran. His grandfather, William J. Johnson was commander of the post from 1937-1938.  His father, John Johnson was a member of the post and his two brothers, Kim and Craig, also Vietnam veterans, are current members. Before he was old enough to join the military, Gary was a member of the Sons Of The American Legion.  His grandmother, Maebelle Johnson is the oldest member of the post at 103.  She and Gary's mother are members of the James E. Coffey Post Auxiliary.  This is Johnson's second term as commander of the post. He also served as commander from 1979-1980.  Johnson is also a member of the post's award winning color guard.
