From pg. 27 of the Nashua Telegraph, 11 June 1986.
"Our main efforts this year will be to increase our membership and increase the involvement of our members," said John W. Sederquist Jr. as he assumed office as the 67th commander of the James E. Coffey Post 3 of the American Legion located in Nashua.
Sederquist, a Hudson resident, said his year a the head of the group will be important because the legion is seeing a site for a new post home. The former Marine Corps sergeant, who served in Vietnam, shared the spotlight at installation ceremonies, held last month, with his wife, Paula, who was installed as president of the auxiliary unit to the Coffey Post.
Two other Hudson men joined Sederquist to head the Coffey Post for 1986-1987. Richard Seymour and Derek DeJesus were installed as senior and junior vice commanders, respectively.
The new commander recently led the post to 101 percent of its membership goal. He expects a wide variety of activities to attract the interest and support of old and new Legionnaires alike. The post membership currently numbers more than a thousand.
