Boy Scout Troop 3 of Nashua recently held a charter ceremony at the American Legion James E. Coffey Post No. 3 in Nashua. Stephen Pecoraro Jr., a Life Scout, served as master of ceremonies. Guests included Gerard Plante, commissioner for the Algonquin District, Boy Scouts of America; Vincent Liberis, council executive; Royal Miller III, post commander; PC Byron Pitarys, post adjutant; and PC Donald Desrosiers, scouting coordinator for the James E. Coffey Post. Plante presented the first charter to the post with Don Desrosiers accepting. A new flag was presented to Trop 3 by Pitarys. He mentioned that the James E. Coffey Post was very proud of the boys and pleased to be their sponsor. Shown in the photo receiving the Boy Scout Troop 3's charter are from L-R, committee chairman Dick Seale, Scout Master Steve Pecoraro, and scout coordinator for the post Donald Desrosiers. Dick Seale, committee chairman, continued the ceremonies by honoring members of the scout committee with year pins. Most notable was a 14-year pin given to Don Thompson, presently the treasurer of Troop 3.
