From the front page of the June 1972 issue of the "Coffey Cup" (the post 3 newsletter).
"On Saturday night, 13 May 1972, Past Commander, Roland Brisson presented Dept. Cdr, Charles Tracy with 71 membership cards which put Coffey Post at 1201 making us not only the largest post in New Hampshire (we beat Sweeney by an even 100 this year) but a 100% Post as well. While this might not seem like much of an achievement, it represents a continuing nine month effort by a great many members. Members such as Emil Bozek, Leo Sirois, Matty Lynch, Stan Lastowka, Fred Clemons, Dick McDonald, Chet McKuskie, Ben Hargreaves, Ernie Ledoux, etc., who brought in dues for 50 or more members."
By the end of 1972, Post 3 membership would rise to 1247 members. This would turn out to be the highest membership in the post's history. After 1973 membership would begin to decline and continues to the present day.
