"A two-fold celebration was held in the James E. Coffey post, American Legion home over the weekend -- first to honor the 48th birthday of the Legion and secondly, to cite Lt. Alexander Monius of the Nashua police department as "outstanding law enforcement officer." In accordance with the wishes of the National AL commander to bring law enforcement to the foreground, each Legion post is honoring an officer or officers for work well done. Police Chief Paul J. Tracy had high praise for this project, Lt. Monius and his department. In left photo, department officers pose with Monius after the award. They are, seated left to right: Josephine Simpson, auxiliary president; Benedict Hargreaves, post commander; and Lt. Monius. Standing: Roland Caron, past commander and toastmaster; Atty. Joseph Gall, senior vice commander and John Bisset, junior vice commander. Right photo: Mrs. Simpson and Hargreaves cut a birthday cake. (Lynch Photos)"
