" Benedict Hargreaves was elected commander of the James E. Coffey post, American Legion, at a meeting last night in the post home. He will succeed Earle F. Wesson as head of the 970 member organization. Hargreaves is chief inspector of the Fire Prevention bureau.

"Installation of the newly-elected officers will take place tomorrow night at 8 in the post home. The annual Coffey memorial mass will be held Sunday in St. Joseph's church. Members will meet at the post home at 9 am and march to the church. The mass is held in honor of James E. Coffey, World War I veteran, for whom the post was named and members who have died.
Also elected last night were delegates to the state convention to be held in Newport June 23-25. Delegates are, Benedict Hargreaves, Earle F. Wesson, Richard J. McDonald, Frederick M. Clemons , Matthew Lynch, Mary H. Sullivan, Emil Bozek, John Bisset , Joseph Gall, Roland Caron, A. Charles Lindsay and Felix Ratoff.
Alternates include, Ernest LeBlanc, Aime Auclair, Albert Duff and Albert Coffey. David P. Stevens, Ray F. Wesson and Robert Whitney were tellers for the election of delegates."
