" Attorney S. Robert Winer (pictured) was elected commander of James E. Coffey post, No. 3, American Legion, delegates and alternates to the state convention were chosen and a visitation by State Commander Michael Savchick of Berlin, marked the group's regular meeting last evening.

The session also found City Solicitor Louis M. Janell resigning as a nominee for the office of junior vice-commander resulting in a contest between Andre Dion and Maurice Bouchard for the post. Dion was elected. Janelle said due to his holding a legislative post, he was unauthorized to run for Legion office.

Officers elected for 1951-1952 were as follows:

Commander: Atty S. Robert Winer.
Senior Vice Commander: Anthony Charles Lindsay.
Junior Vice Commander: Mr. Andre Dion
Adjutant: Miss Mary H. Sullivan.
Finance Officer: Everett H. Swett.
Treasurer: Edgar E. Lemire.
Chaplain: Elliot Cooke.
Historian: David P. Stevens.
Trustee: Paul A. Moran.
Trust Officer: Atty. George M. French.
Sergeant At Arms: Arthur O'Neil.
Executive Committee: John P. Nash, Andrew Bernier, Frederick Clemens."
