"Earl Young (pictured) was elected commander of the James E. Coffey post No.3, American Legion, at the meeting held at the Legion home last night. A joint installation of post and auxiliary will be held Thursday night, to be followed by a lunch and dancing. District officers will install the new officers.
Long active in Legion circles, the new commander has served as chef de gare of the Hillsboro County Voiture, 40 & 8. He succeeds Commander Adelard Bastille.

Junior Vice Commander: Dennis Drum.

"Notice was sent to all congressmen and representatives stating that the Coffey post went on record as opposing Bill 679 which reduced allotment of men training on the job, asking that the bill be rescinded as soon as possible.
Plans for enlarging the present post home were discussed and a report of a study for proposed changes made by an engineer was read to the member. A special committee is to be named to conider futher the proposed changes."
