From the front page of the Nashua Telegraph, Sat, Oct 9, 1943.

"Officers of the James E. Coffey Post, American Legion, the Auxiliary Unit, Sons of Legion and Junior Auxiliary unit were installed at impressive ceremonies at the Legion home last evening.
District Commander Darrell Wilkins of Brookline and District President Mrs. Mildred Johnson of Nashua were the installing officers assisted by district officers.

Following the installation there were talks by visiting officers and members of the Auxiliary unit served lunch. Dancing and social evening followed until a later hour.

Joseph W. Brown (pictured) was installed as commander of the Coffey Post and Mrs. Harriet G. Davis was installed as president of the Auxiliary. There were many invited guests including commanders and presidents of posts auxiliary units in the district and officers of many service and patriotic orders.

Installed with Commander Brown as Legion officers were:

Senior Vice Commander: Dr. Albert G. Coffey.
Junior Vice Commander: Alfred Belair.
Finance Officer: Everett H. Swett
Treasurer: Edgar Lemire.
Chaplain: Rev. P.C. Gamache.
Historian: Ernest Bruce.
Trustee: Henry E. Raiche.
Trust Officer: George M. French.
Sergeant At Arms: Arthur O'Neil.
Executive Committee: Nelson J. Seymour, Andrew Bernier, David F. Sullivan.
Post Membership for 1943-1944: 725

.....Mrs. Thelma Walch, retiring president of the Auxiliary was presented a past president's ring and bouquet of roses by Mrs. Davis who also presented Mrs. Johnson, district president with a gift."
