"The Wiers - James E. Coffey Post, American Legion, of Nashua was awarded the Department Service trophy for outstanding service to disabled veterans, at the 25th annual sessions of the New Hampshire department convention today. Commander Henry E. Raiche accepted the trophy for the Post. Wilton Post was third in the contest.

The Brown membership trophy and pennant to be attached to the staff of the Post colors, emblematic of this award, for posts in towns of 4000 or less, went to the Roy Bent Post of Wilton, Carroll Center, commander.

Wilton with a quota of 41 had 59 members for a percentage of 141.4. The Coffey Post of Nashua was second highest in percentage for Posts in the second district. With a quota of 513 the Coffey Post reported a membership of 604 for percentage of 117.7."
