Alderman Edward R. Benoit, president of the Nashua Board of Alderman, is shown presenting newly elected Commander Myron S. Walch with the keys to the American Legion home on 11 Court Street during the official dedication held on Sunday afternoon 27 Oct 1940. The Mayor and Board of Alderman had voted in December of 1939 to turn over the old Police Station building to the Legion Post for use as a home. After extensive remodeling by Post members during 1940, the official dedication was scheduled.
