The American Legion Post #158 was established in 1919 and was reorganized in 1922. It was known as the Ernest Stuehrk Post in honor of the first WWI casualty. Each year a Memorial Day Service is held in the Cedar Bluffs Auditorium. Also on Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day and Independence Day, the “Avenue of Flags” proudly flies at the Legion Field west of town. These flags have been donated by the family of past members.
