On October 25, 1929 Ravalli Post 47 received a Certificate of Distinguished Service from the National Commander for:
"During the year shown by the affixed gold seal, there was enrolled in Ravalli Post, No. 47, Department of Montana, The American Legion, a membership exceeding the previous year's membership by four hundred per cent or greater. This remarkable achievement has entitled the post to permanent affiliation with the four hundred per cent group."
