Students from Twin Bridges School will be presenting prepared and extemporaneous speeches regarding citizenship and the U.S. Constitution in a competition for a spot at the district competition with the ultimate objective of participating in the national competition in Indianapolis.
The objective of the competition is to “instill a better knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States in high school students”. To this end, each contestant will give two speeches. The first is a prepared speech on an area of the United States Constitution emphasizing the duties and obligations of a citizen to her/his government. The second speech is a short, extemporaneous response to an assigned topic from the Constitution.
