The American Legion Post 3's namesake Loy J. Molumby (1891-1939) is buried in Mount Olive Cemetery in Great Falls, Montana. Loy J. Molumby was a World War I pilot, lawyer and the man who signed Jack Dempsey and Tommy Gibbons for their championship fight at Shelby in 1923. As a lawyer he fought for veteran's rights in and out of court. He housed homeless veterans in a house he owned here in Great Falls.
