"PAUL S. KILLINGSWORTH POST NO. 307
THE AMERICAN LEGION

ASH GROVE, MISSOURI
AN OPEN INVITATION

Memorial Day is fast approaching and we, the members of the Paul S. Killingsworth Post 307 American Legion, would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your congregation to join us at a special MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION at the flag pole in the new section of the Ash Grove Cemetery on May 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm.

Memorial Day is a time of reflecting on the lives of those that has gone before and a time of remembrance of what they mean to us. The tradition of Memorial Day has been observed since the end of the Civil War. It is a time to honor the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen that have paid the ultimate price. To pay tribute to their sacrifices and to renew our commitment to the ideals they gave their lives to defend.

For too many years, Memorial Day has been looked upon as the unofficial start of summer. The lives of those that gave us this holiday has been forgotten in the mass marketing of summer fun and carefree living. On May 26th we intend to honor the day, and the memory of those who have gone to their just reward.

So please pass the word, Sunday May 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the flag pole in the new section of the Ash Grove Cemetery. A celebration honoring those that gave freely of themselves so that we may enjoy living in the greatest country on Earth.
