WOODBURY – Despite the prediction of snowy weather for the weekend of April 27, 2019, Woodbury American Legion Post 501 completed a successful three day Poppy event with no bad weather and a tremendous turnout from the community.

Post Commander, Tom Grezek said “American Legion Poppy Days was a huge success raising over $12,000.   This will allow the Post to continue to support the Woodbury community and veterans through scholarships and donations to the community.   This success was possible due to the volunteers from the Post and the Woodbury Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadets as well as our sponsors Walmart, Sam’s Club, Cub Foods, Jerry’s, Total Wine and the Valley Creek Mall.”

The red poppy honors every service member who has worn our nation’s uniform and also those service members who have died in the name of liberty, freedom and democracy. Thank you to all who stopped by and visited with us during Poppy Days April 26-28.
