Besides selling Christmas Seals in winter, the Ellendale Legion Auxiliary sold Easter Seals every spring. The money went to support children with physical disabilities.

Like Christmas seals, Easter seals are a charity labels. Various charities sold seals to raise funds and awareness. The buyer placed them on their correspondence and mail.

In 1934, the National Society for Crippled Children started selling charity seals around Easter. The first seal featured a child with crutches superimposed on a white cross. White lilies, another Easter symbol, graced 1935’s seal.

Groups like the Minnesota Association for Crippled Children and Legion Auxiliary assisted with the sale of Easter seals. In 1935, the Ellendale Auxiliary bought $5 worth of Easter seals, about $100 dollars today.
