A military funeral was held in Carson City Thursday for Lawson M. Knowles, 79, a former Army captain and a prominent member of the American Legion.
Mr. Knowles died her Monday.
He was a charter member of the American Legion in Michigan, a charter member of Post No. 380 in Carson City and a member of Montcalm Barracks No. 473, Veterans of World War I.
Mr. Knowles was also active in the Hubbardston Legion post and was the Legion's service officer in Montcalm County for many years.
