Edward L. Marshall was the first Post Commander of 271. He was an American Legion activist and assisted in building the new hall on Beech Daly. Edward was a WW1 veteran of the U.S. Army, 28th Division, Company C, 103rd Combat Engineers. He enlisted May 28, 1918 and was sent to Europe July 14, 1918.
