Labor Day travelers driving to Cape Cod on Labor Day week-end were offered free coffee, cold drinks and pastry snacks in Middleboro, MA in the rest area between exits 3 & 4. The annual take a break/safe driving campaign was offered by Simeon L. Nickerson Post 64.

The rest area coffee/snack table was staffed by Post 64 members and volunteer helpers from Rolling Thunder’s Chapter Two and the Post’s Troop 64 Boy Scouts.

Travelers were able to obtain the free goodies from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. A two day stint for the Cape Cod destination drivers was held from Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 1. Then the coffee table was moved to northbound side on Sunday, September 2 and Labor Day Monday for departing Cape Cod vacationers.
