...........Middleboro Gazette- October 15, 2015...Submitted by Bob Burke, Adjutant Post 64

.....At the Simeon L. Nickerson American Legion Post 64 October meeting, Post Historian Bob

Lessard was presented his Legionnaire of the Year jacket.

..... Committee Chairperson Ed Angeli presented Bob Lessard his Legionnaire of the Year jacket.

He was honored for his work organizing and preserving historical Post documents and

photographs. (A photograph of the presentation was taken by Post treasurer Richard Mays. The

picture appeared on page three in the Middleboro Gazette with the article.)

.....Lessard received his award for the work he has done. He also is managing a project to scan

the historical items onto CDs for off-site storage.

.....A year ago, the American Legion for its 100th anniversary built a web site for local Posts

to display their history. Bob jumped at the opportunity to participate, and because of his

work,Post 64 was used as a sample web site at a training seminar at the 2014 American Legion

National Convention.

.....Several months later, Bob's work was again recognized, this time in the "Legionnaire," the

monthly news magazine of the American Legion. In the magazine, Lessard's web site was cited as

a good model for similar projects.

.....Go to legion.org to view Bob's work. Select Centennial Celebration and the Post Index to

find Post 64.
