Memorial Day ceremonies commenced on Sunday, May 25, 2014 with members of the Middleboro Veterans Council participating in special church services at the South Middleboro Rock Village Church with minister Brian Cook officiating.
A contingent of veterans marched into the church and posted colors. The pledge of allegiance, which was recited, was led by pastor Cook. Reading of the war dead, Civil War to present, was offered by various members of the veterans group.
Taps were then played with an echo.
Church services were then conducted by the pastor. Singing of the Battle Hymn of the Republic followed. The colors were retired and the veterans departed the church.
