Oratorical Zone Contest Winner

Commander Donald Triner, American Legion Simeon L Nickerson Post 64, offers congratulations to Middleboro High School senior Mary Cole, who won the Legion’s Oratorical Zone Contest. Her entry was sponsored by Post 64. Commander Triner complimented Miss Cole for “doing an outstanding job.” She was presented with the American Legion Oratorical Certificate of Distinction for her participation. She won the district contest, zone contest, and then came in fourth in the state contest. In addition, while her parents observed, she was given a check to use for her college education. She has been accepted and will be attending the University of Toronto. Commander Triner in his closing remarks said, “All the members of the Post are proud and pleased in the way Mary represented the Post. And, if we have a few more students like Mary this country will have a bright future.”
