Senior Vice-Commander Eddie P. Crouse was elected Commander of the Simeon L. Nickerson Post
64, American Legion at the annual meeting here last night.
The 4-year-old carpenter, who lives at 12 Corinne Parkway, succeeds William F. Begley, re-
named to the post’s by-laws committee and as an alternate to the 10th District.
Junior Vice- Commander William McMahon, Jr. was elevated to Senior Vice-Commander and Joseph
S. D’Elia was named Junior Vice –Commander. Adjutant Lawrence E. Carver was re-elected.
Other posts elected last night: Ernest Montrond, assistant adjutant; Ralph B. Mendall,
finance officer; Edward Shaw, historian; Paul Nadeau, chaplain; Edward Sylvaria, sergeant-at-
arms; George Sampson, Americanization officer; Whitman Higgins, graves registration officer;
Fletcher Clark, Jr., judge advocate; Joseph A. Masi, athletic officer; Louis A. Cole, service
officer, and Clifton McCrillis, assistant service officer.
T. Francis Begley, Robert Howes and Mr. McCrillis were named to the auditing committee; Mr.
Begley and William Bernier, by-laws committee; Alvin Bissonette to a three year term to the
scholarship committee; Everett Caswell and Mr. Begley and Mr. McMahon, alternates to the 10th
District.
Named to the Post executive committee at-large were Vincent Robidoux, Lawrence Holmes and
John Rockwell. Frank Harris and Everett Saunders were named to the house committee for a three
year term with Mr. Saunders also to serve as a member of the finance committee for the same
period.
Mr. McCrillis was elected president of the post’s Memorial Association, Mr. Robidoux, vice-
president, and Mr. Saunders, secretary –treasurer. Elected to serve for three years as the
Memorial Association’s board of directors were Adjutant Caver and Mr. Sampson.
