
……………………Bridgewater: 2-10-1953 - People from all walks of life attended the funeral of Dr.
John H. Hall held from the Trinity Espicopal church on Monday. The service was conducted by
Rev. Dana Benfield and Rev. Raymond Coosaboom, the latter of Middleboro, an intimate friend of
the deceased, read from the Scriptures.
……Dr. Hall was an active member of Middleboro’s Simeon L. Nickerson Post 64 American Legion.
He had held various positions in the Post including that of Commander in 1936. Representing
Post 64 at the funeral service were Commander E. L. Caswell and Past Commanders Fred Wright,
Ernest Saunders, P. J. McMahon, Reginald Drake, Clifton McCrillis, Walworth Waterman, Harry
Schofield and Clifton Collins.
……He was also a Past Commander of the State Department of the American Legion. Representing
the State Department of the American Legion were Past Commanders George Grader of Marblehead
and Leo Ash of Swansea. Warren Fowler, who served as Dr. Hall’s Sergeant-at Arms when he was
State Commander presented the colors to Mrs.Hall.
…….Military services and burial arrangements were handled by the Simeon L. Nickerson Post
American Legion of which Dr. Hall was a member and Past Commander. Interment was in Canton.
…….Bearers at the funeral yesterday included Fred Wright and Everett Saunders, who represented
the South Shore Voiture of the 40 & 8. Reginald Drake of Post 64 acted as Chaplain. Color
guards and color bearers were Franklin G. Harlow, Wilmouth Waterman, Harry Schofield and
Clifton Collins. The firing squad was furnished by the Boston Army base.
…….. The Middleboro Kiwanis had a delegation present as well as the Middleboro Lodge BPOE.
