………………From Post 64 Minutes filed by Franklin D. Harlow : Veterans’ Night was celebrated in

fitting style, when approximately one hundred and thirty members and guests assembled in

Legion Hall to partake of an excellent supper prepared and served by our Auxiliary

…………….Invited guests included Vice Department Commander Richard L. Buckely; Department

Executive Committeeman at Large Claire F. Wall; Auxiliary President Doris Horton and all of

the Past Commanders of the Post with the exception of three, who were unable to attend due to

illness: Arthur S. Hall, Patrick J. McMahon and George I. Dunham.

……………In over the 30 years the Post has functioned there have been only two deaths in the ranks

of past commanders. They were Marshall Snow and Forest Thomas. A tribute was paid to their

memory. Post Chaplain Maynard E. Hall gave the invocation.

……………After a splendid beefsteak pie supper, Commander Harlow introduced the committee which

had planned the evening. He then introduced PC Kenneth B Keedwell, who took over the Master of

Ceremony duties in excellent form.

……………First Vice Commander John D. Rockwell, Jr., introduced the twenty-five Past Commanders

present. He then asked PC Fletcher Clark, Jr., the first Commander of the Post to give a short

history of the Legion.

……………On behalf of the Post, a new U. S. flag was presented to Auxiliary President Doris Horton

as the representative of the Auxiliary.

…………… The entertainment of the evening was ably furnished by Alfred Hotin at the piano,

Kenneth R. Greene, baritone solos; the German Band made up of high school students, Pauline

Saunders, Mary Kay Rudolph, Bruce Matheson, Boyd Iseminger, and a trumpet trio, McCrillis,

Marois and Casey; the Walcott family, and Don White, a magician of outstanding ability.
