First installation of officers

On August 13, 1956, at 8:30 p.m., an installation of officers was held at the Bay View Rollerway, 1280 Sea Street in Houghs Neck.

The first slate of officers: John R. Kateon, Commander: James Smollett, Sr. Vice Commander; Thomas Gibbons, Junior Vice Commander; Norman LaBel, Adjutant; Robert Trubiano, Finance Officer; Mrs. Dorothy Leavitt,Chaplain; William Donovan Historian; Edward Hassan, Sergeant-At-Arms; Anthony McLaughlin,Judge Advocate; Carmel Morreale, Robert McGee, John McNally, George McNeil, and J.P. Kenney, Executive Committee; Kenneth Boddie, Service Officer; Paul McKeon, Public Relations; and Paul Shaw, Child Welfare Officer.
