Margaret joined the American Legion after the post started. Her husband became a member and she signed up shortly afterwards. She was elected as the Auxiliary President from 1967 to 1971. She fondly remembers her husband working the “Big SIX Wheel” for events. She has continued her dedication to the Auxiliary as Treasure since 1988 and continues to help the Auxiliary whenever she can. She has dedicated 63 years to Post 256 and this mission. She was awarded The Continuous Member Certificate for 60 years of Service by the American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret is the proud mother of two daughters, one of which is currently the president of the Auxiliary, and three grandchildren, one of which is now in his 3rd year of college at the University of Maryland completing a degree in computer engineering. Her great granddaughter who currently lives in Florida and all are active members of the American Legion.
