John Philley, World War II veteran, was honored at the Oak Grove high School "Military Appreciation Night" football game. John was given a football signed by the Oak Grove team and a replacement football jacket, with his old number. His original jacket that he earned as a player was lost. The jacket was donated by Kevin and Beckey Miller of Graduate Sales, Monroe LA. John, a former Marine, served in the Pacific during the war. John is a long time member of the American Legion Post 53 of Oak Grove, LA.
