At a ceremony September 23, 2016, the Boeuf River bridge, between West Carroll and Morehouse Parish Louisiana was renamed WW I and WW II Memorial Bridge. This was the results of a combined effort of the American Legion Post 53, our state elected officials, and the LA Highway Department, but mainly through the efforts of Jack Madden Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 53 who started this project three years ago.
At a second ceremony September 23, 2016, the Lanes Ferry bridge, between West Carroll and East Carroll Parish Louisiana was renamed Korean, Vietnam and Desert Storm Veterans Memorial Bridge.
