William "Bill " Detweiler received from the Honorable Vincent Sciama (Consul General of France)The National Order of Merit (Ordre National Du Merite). This is a French Order of Merit with membership awarded by the President of the French Republic. The Award was established in 1963 by French President Charles de Gaulle. French citizens as well as foreign nationals can be received into the order of distinguished military or civil achievements. Bill is a Past National Commander of the American Legion, Past State and Post Commander.
