Post 307 History Also making a little bit of history was when Post 307 elected Mrs. Melba Brehm Coleman as Post 307 Commander for 1988-1989. It is believed that Mrs. Brehm was the first woman to hold this rank in Louisiana.  Mrs. Coleman was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a member of the Venus and Iris Carnival krewes and the American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1965.  She was a corporal in the Women's Army Corp during World War II.
