On August 16, 2012 the Post coordinated with Fire Chief Hulin Theriot of the Jennings Fire Department in order to allow Post 19 to sponsor the Firefighter of the Year Award for the city of Jennings. The award recipient would then be nominated by the Post for Firefighter of the Year Awards at 7th District, Department (State-level) and National level. The following firefighters have been recognized over the years since 2012:

2014 - Ashley Navarre (also won at 7th District)

2015 - Bobby Vasseur (also won at 7th District)

The photo above shows Assistant Fire Chief Bobby Vasseur, 2015 Firefighter of the Year for the Jennings Fire Department. Assistant Chief Vasseur was also selected as the Department of Louisiana 7th District Firefighter of the Year.  In 2022 Bobby was slected as the Department Firefighter of the Year, in addition to being named the Post 19, City of Jennings, and 7th District Firefighter of the Year again.
