Ward Arthur Davis, one of the founding members of James O. Hall Post 19 of the American Legion-Department of Louisiana, was born on December 17, 1901 in Jennings, LA.  He enlisted in the U. S. Army on June 15, 1918 and reported for duty at Jackson Barracks, Louisiana.  He deployed for service in France on September 17, 1918.  He served in the Motor Transport Corps with Company D, Mechanical Repair Unit #309.  After hostilities ended in Europe on November 11, 1918 Ward remained in France until July 29, 1919.  He was discharged from the Army at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on August 5, 1919.  The photo shows Ward (middle) with two of his friends, Eyeler (left) and Mack (right), during their military service in World War I.  Ward qualified for the World War I Victory Medal.
