Our Post has the first and only permanent Healing Field in the United States. Located on the Anderson Post 34 grounds, part of Lawrenceburg City Park, rests a living tribute to Kentucky's servicemen and women who have fallen in the War On Terrorism. Dedicated on November 4 2007, this first-ever permanent Healing Field will fly as a patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of all Americans and as a healing memorial to families of these fallen heroes. Developed and funded by the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Kentucky, this memorial was presented as a gift to all. The current field contains 118 flag poles, flags and memorial plaques, each representing a Kentucky soldier who have given their life to protect our freedom. Every year, the Sunday prior to Memorial Day at 3:00 pm, the American Legion Auxiliary hosts a Memorial Day Service including adding poles, flags and plaques for those lost in the last year. This display is free for all and open year-round for all who wish to honor our fallen heroes. Donations for additional poles, markers, flag replacement & maintenance can be sent to American Legion Auxiliary PO Box 114 Lawrenceburg, KY. 40342
