Governor Reynolds signed a proclamation that 11-22 March was proclaimed as the 100 Year Anniversary of The American Legion.

On 19 March, 2019 a delegation of Legionnaires from across Iowa met at the State Capital in Des Moines to be honored by the state govenrment.  There was a ceremony of passing a proclamation by the House of Representatives followed by a similar ceremony in the Senate.  Afterwards, the Proclamation was signed by Governor Kim Reynolds in a very nice ceremony where all of those present were thanked for their service in the armed services, and continued through their efforts in The American Legion.
