The second location, 220 North Court Street, was across from the elementary school that is now owned by the city. This property was acquired from W. J. Jennings Lumber Company on December 17, 1934.  Also across the street, to the North, was a Masonic Temple which was sold to the school and demolished several years ago to make room for a new gymnasium for the school. The school has now been demolished and the gym has been remodeled into the Sullivan Civic Center. Our post was purchased by the Elks Lodge in February 1945 and used as teen center until 1986 when it was purchased by the Sullivan Housing Authority. It was demolished and turned into a parking lot for Sullivan’s first Senior Housing at that time.
