1978 saw all Legion activities carried out in the normal grand fashion. A list of names of veterans who served our country during the eligible membership dates was started. These names would be placed on a plaque to be mounted on the new obelisk in our Memorial Park. The actual size of the plaque will determine the number of names which can be displayed. At present it is planned to have 60 to 80 names on the plaque.
This year saw an average of 123 bingo players on Tuesday evenings. A monthly plee for members to help with bingo was sent out in our monthly newsletter and brought up at every meeting.
Dudley Smalley is elected commander for 1979.
