On March 14,1948, the 19th District meeting convened at Farmer City as guests of Joe Williams Post 55. An estimated 700 Legionnaires appeared in the city, with 542 reporting at roll call at the high school gym for the afternoon session. The guests were fed at the Knights of Pythias hall and later entertained at the club room by a seven act floor show from Chicago. Distinguished guests included Vern C.
